The Cherished Quilt by Amy Clipston is the third book in the Amish Heirloom series. This series follows the lives of the Fisher family,each book follows the life of each Fisher daughter. Emily Fisher has always been there for everyone,she is selfless and supportive and she has been there for her two older sisters helping them wherever needed. Emily has been by their sides to see them through their relationships but she is starting to wonder if she is ever going to meet the perfect man for her.
Emily feels guilty for being jealous of her sisters' happiness and she wonders when it will be her turn for Love.

Christopher Hostettler arrives in Bird-in-Hand to stay and work with his Uncle at his harness shop that he owns with Emilys father. Chris arrives with deep pain from the loss of his brotherGabriel three months earlier. Chris feels responsible for the death of his brother andfather blames him for the accident as well . Chris comes to Bird-in-Hand for a fresh start and to make enough money to start over somewhere.

Emily is upset by Chris' attitude when she meets him at the harness shop where she keeps the books for her dad but she is drawn to him. Emily continues to pursue a friendship with Chris and he quickly realizes that he enjoys her friendship. Emily continues to encourage and help Chris through his feelings and their friendship starts to grow into something more. Chris opens up to Emily and shares that he misses the quilt his Grandmother made for him years ago. Emily makes beautiful quilts so she decides to make a lap quilt for Chris at of fabric that belonged to her Grandmother ( mammi ).

Chris wants to start a life with Emily but he would have to be baptized first and his feelings of unworthiness keep him from pursuing it. Chris decides to go home to Ohio to help his brother and  he leaves without saying goodbye to Emily. Emily is so hurt and upset but she decides to send the finished quilt to Chris along with a letter. Will Chris decide that Emily is important enough to forgive himself and feel worthy of her love ?

Amy Clipston has done it again,she has written another Amazing book !!! Amy has a way of writing that pulls you in from the first page. She writes the characters and settings so well that you feel like you are truly right there. The whole series is wonderful but The Cherished Quilt is my favorite,I couldn't put this one down and I devoured every page in an afternoon. I love how she writes these books in which it sets up the storyline for the next book in the series. I look forward to the next book in the series which comes out in May.

Readers have supported Emily Fisher and watched her provide selfless acts and support to her older sisters throughout the series. Amy Clipston developed, in my option, the best story yet in the Amish Heirloom series to let Emily shine as not only a caring, lovable person, but also in her ability to help Christopher Hochstetler and tear down the walls he has built around his heart.

Emily feels guilty when she secretly envies her sisters’ happiness and begins to wonder when will it be her turn to find love. Christopher arrives in Bird-in-Hand with a deep sadness and hurt in his heart and Emily is eager to accept the challenge of becoming his friend. Christopher feels responsible for the recent death of his brother and has left his family in Ohio to try to build a new life with his aunt and uncle in Pennsylvania. He is struggling with a very rocky relationship with his father and feels that he is just completely worthless. Emily continues to encourage and help Chris and the two become friends and begin to share with each other their deepest, darkest secrets.

Emily soon learns that Chris misses his quilt that his grandmother made for him when he was a boy and decides to quilt him a lab robe based off of the one that her mother had fashioned for her father when they were dating. Emily uses her beloved grandmother's fabric and begins the quilt.

Amy did an amazing job with the characters and setting. The book was well written and had terrific character development. I had a hard time sitting this book aside and getting back to my daily life. The book was left open and I do hope to see the next book in the series in the very near future.

She is a wonderful quilt maker, she enjoys cooking , sewing and works park time for her father and Hank (her fathers best friend) who also is their neighbor who together own a Harness Shop, however Emily is wondering if she will ever have what her two sisters have that special one person God set aside for her, her best friend she can talk too, really talk too.
She is truly happy for her sisters if fact she was instrumental in helping them with their relationships, but that does not stop that little voice every once in a while that she wants what they have.
Christopher (Chris) Hostettler travels to Bird in a Hand to hopefully start fresh after and accident took the life of his younger brother Gabriel. Chris lives with his uncle Hank and Aunt Tillie, and he struggles with the grief and the self blame of Gabriel's death, also his failing relationship with his father.
While working for uncle Hank he slowly excepts Emily's friendship as she works to break down the walls he as build up around himself. Emily realizes Chris need her friendship and works hard to show him he is worth her time and in the process she finds she is falling fast for him, however can she trust her heart?
I can't say enough for this book with each book in this series I have found Amy has pulled me in more and more in The Cherished Quilt I could not put it down, I finished in in a day. You will cry so get you tissue ready, you will cheer for the characters and you will feel like your right there with them. Amy keeps surprising me with each series she writes. I can't wait for book four! Do yourself a favor and read this series!
