Impulse Forgotten Princess Volume 1 Iffix Y Santaph Books
This short read didn't have a dull moment. It's full of adventures that put our three protagonists (Jendra and her friends Leon and Toby) in danger with each turn. The action packed story occurs on another planet, and so the main characters aren't human. From their description, they are cute furry little things that kind of reminded me of the Ewoks. I have to admit I loved them.I'd recommend for MG readers and for young at hearts. I'll definitely be continuing the series.

Impulse Forgotten Princess Volume 1 Iffix Y Santaph Books Reviews
I think that the best part of Impulse, other than the solid plot and characters, is that a lot of action takes place while description, although present, doesn't take the bulk of the story. While there are some slower passages, the majority of the novel is quickly paced and reels in the reader to the danger that the protagonists feel. Additionally, the concept of a Gwalf as the main character instead of a human makes it all the more original and interesting. My favorite line reflects the main character, Jendra, but also applies to any of us humans "She had less fear of the unknown than of never knowing what might be really out there." I would definitely recommend Impulse for a great read.

Impulse (Forgotten Princess Book 1) is a Children's/YA adventure story about 3 non-human creatures called gwalflings, who go on an adventure to get a bell-flower - the only hope of saving a human princess who has been poisoned and saved by a vigilantee who refers to himself as Shadow Man. As they embark on this journey, they encounter different creatures and robots in their bid to get this special flower.
Reading this book, felt like watching a fun-filled children's cartoon filled with mystical creatures and exciting adventures. The book is well-written and its characters are both likeable and relatable, especially Jendra. These, make the story a pleasant and interesting read.
I was really impressed by this book. "Impulse" casts a different light on the usual human vs. alien stories, even though the story itself is not about this difference. But it adds a nice twist. The book is fast-paced, full of action and adventure. There was not a single page where I was bored, it kept me turning the pages. And with a nice cliffhanger at the end, it makes me wonder what's going to happen next. The story and the characters are easy to follow, the formatting of the book is nice, and very readable. I usually have issues with book descriptions telling too much of the story, but even that is perfect here. Just enough to get you interested, but there's plenty of new surprise in the book. I tried hard to find something I could point out that I have issues with, but quite frankly, I think this is what you call perfect. Absolutely 5 stars!

I haven't read many books where most of the main characters aren't human, and to be honest, most of the time, I'd rather not. Despite the fact that this story takes place on another planet inhabited by gwalf, I still really enjoyed it. It centers around young gwalf (or gwalflings as they are called), and while they are small and furry with tails, their personalities were similar to humans so they were easy to relate to. And they sound very cute; I would love to see a drawing of one!
I felt as if I got to know each of the characters. Jendra has an adventurous spirit, and she is dissatisfied with living inside a dark cave with all the miserable gwalf in the city. She longs to leave the cave and to see the beauty that she knows is out there, even if it is too dangerous for the gwalf to explore. Her best friend, Leon, is smart and more practical, but he often goes along with Jendra even if she does tend to get him in trouble. And then we meet little Toby, Leon's younger cousin. This gwalfling is fun, silly, and daring. I just adored him.
When Jendra and Leon discover a comatose alien, they end up going on an incredible, yet dangerous journey in order to save her. And Toby is happy to tag along.
I often felt that I could identify with Jendra. While she's braver than me, I could empathize with her conflicting emotions. She wanted to escape the city so she could feel more alive, but at the same time, she was loathe to leave behind those she cared about or to endanger them by bringing them with her. My husband and I want to leave Pennsylvania for the warmer and more sunny Florida, but we would be far away from family and friends and would hardly ever see them. Plus it wouldn't be very practical financially. While our dilemmas are much different, I could still understand her internal struggle. I know what it feels like to want to leave behind a life that we're born into.
With an intriguing and imaginative storyline that encompasses different types of creatures and other planets, this was truly a pleasure to read. I could easily picture this as a movie in my mind, and it's a story I would love to share with my nephews when they're a little bit older. There are still many questions left unanswered, which has certainly left me wanting to read the next book in the series.
I recommend this novella to anyone looking for a fun and adventurous read.

Good storyline and very well written. Look forward to the sequel.
Short at just over 100 pages long, there's still a lot of adventure shoved between these pages. A good read, and I'll be looking into the 2nd one.
A nice, fast-moving science fiction tale.
The story begins with Jendra and Leon discovering an unconscious alien. To save her they embark on a thrilling journey across the universe, fraught with menacing creatures and dangerous pitfalls.
While primarily aimed at children, adults too will be able to enjoy this imaginative story.
